Patna AIIMS trains to enhance skills of health administrators and frontline medical professionals

Patna, Dec 8 (UNI) Continuing its commitment to national capacity-building efforts, part of the Health Sector Disaster Preparedness Programme, AIIMS Patna imparted training to enhance the skills of health administrators and frontline medical professionals.
A six-day Capacity Building Programme on the Management of Public Health Emergencies for District Health Officers began today at Patna AIIMS which has successfully conducted multiple training sessions 4 in each financial year.
Inaugurating the programme Executive Director, AIIMS Patna Prof. (Brig.) Dr. Raju Agarwal today emphasised the significance of developing robust response capabilities at the district level. He said that the programme commencing from December 8 is scheduled to conclude on December 13 , is a part of a national effort to strengthen preparedness, patient safety, and care quality during public health crises.
Course Coordinator and Head of Hospital Administration,Dr. Sujeet Kumar Sinha addressing the participants in the training programme said here today that these initiatives align with the central government mission to create a resilient healthcare system capable of responding to natural disasters, epidemics, and other public health emergencies.
Sinha, highlighted the programme’s role in equipping district-level officers with the essential skills needed for coordinated and effective emergency response. He emphasised the importance of strengthening health systems in the post-pandemic era with the basic concepts in Disaster Management and the Legal, Policy and Institutional Framework.
Assistant professor, Department of Hospital Administration Dr Ramkrishna Mondal, delivered on Health emergency risk assessment and public health surveillance.
Associate Professor, Department of Community and Family Medicine, Dr. Santosh Kumar Nirala, delivered the session on Basics of Epidemiology, followed by Dr. Mahendra M. who led an interactive session and practical exercise on Outbreak Investigation.
Participants from Bihar, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan including District Health Officers, Medical Officers, and public health administrators are attending this training aimed at strengthening regional health systems and emergency management capacities.
